Odua Research Group is a not-for-profit organisation.
It derives its funding from contributions from private individuals and organisations with a shared interest in the emancipation of the Yoruba Nation.
Research Coordinators (Staff L2)
You will be a part of the team of 12, made up of 8 research assistants and 4 research coordinators. You will coordinate a mini-team of two Research Assistants. Your role will include defining the parameters of their tasks, mentoring, motivating and coordinating their activities.
You will liaise with the 3 other coordinators, holding regular virtual meetings with them.
Qualification and experience.
A Masters degree will be the basic requirement. A doctorate will be a clear advantage. Experience in project management or operational research will be useful. You must have a good level of English language especially, comprehension and writing. You must have experience of using a data processing package as well as spreadsheets and word processing tools (preferably Microsoft EXCEL and WORD).
An international travel passport will be considered an advantage as travels outside Nigeria may become necessary
What we expect
We expect a coordination report of the team in a structured format. This report with those from the 3 other coordinators will together form the national report. The initial version will be updated monthly. While the tasks are expected to be carried out remotely, you will be expected to be based mostly in the territory that you cover.
Nature of the contract
This is a part-time job. We estimate that a 25-hour week will be appropriate for the work-load for this post.
We would like to sign contracts with the successful applicants by end of August with starting date preferably in the second half of September.

As noted above, the post is initially intended as part-time (equivalent of 25 hours per week). We envisage increasing and upgrading them to full-time posts which might be hosted by an academic institution in the near future.
