Odua Research Group is a not-for-profit organisation.
It derives its funding from contributions from private individuals and organisations with a shared interest in the emancipation of the Yoruba Nation.

Media Assistants (Staff L3)

You will be a part of the team of 36 Media Assistants covering the whole country and beyond specifically focused on social media with the objectives of collecting materials necessary for monitoring releases on events and activities that affect the Yoruba Nation (positively or negatively). Your tasks will mostly involve scouting the social media for such relevant/pertinent information.
Each MA will be assigned a primary State of focus as well as other regions outside Nigeria.

Qualification and experience.

A university degree will be the basic requirement. Nevertheless, you will be considered for this position if you have a post-secondary school education with some relevant experience and proven track record of social-media engagement.
You must have a good level of English language especially, comprehension and writing.
Understanding of any foreign language including Arabic, Spanish, French, German etc will be a clear advantage.
In addition to proving their level of social media engagement, applicants will be expected to prove that they are apolitical – i.e., that they have no political affiliation and are able to file objective reports.
Applicants will be expected to prove that they have no religious biases and are in no way fanatical.

What we expect

You will be expected to make a structured report by feeding it directly into our on-line database at least 3 times each week. You will also be expected to file a weekly summary report.
As the tasks are expected to be carried out remotely, you are not necessarily expected to be based in the State that you cover.

Nature of the contract

This is not foreseen as a full-time post. We estimate a workload of between 20 to 30 hours per week. The workload will be reviewed periodically.
We would like to sign contracts with the successful applicants by end of August with starting date preferably in the second half of September.

The package

We offer a career in media and research fields to the right candidates which makes you grow with this young group that will play a significant role in the future of the Yoruba Nation.
We offer a starting monthly salary package of N120.000 to N150.000 depending on your qualification, experience and the territory covered.
