Research Assistants (Staff L3)
You will be a part of the team of 8 Research Assistants covering the whole country with the objectives of collecting materials necessary for creating a full database on situation in Nigeria. Your tasks will mostly involve collecting information of relevance including data on happenings in the country in general, and in particular, within the states assigned to you. Such information will be both qualitative and quantitative. It will include who-is-doing-what, what crimes are being reported, who is appointed to what posts, and what responsibilities are attached to such posts. You will report on accountability of key public servants and abuses of their offices. Such report will include possible human rights crimes and abuses. You will document speeches that could be considered as hate-filled, genocidal-inspired or as instigation to commit felony.
Qualification and experience.
A university degree will be the basic requirement. Nevertheless, you will be considered for this if you have a post-secondary school education with some relevant experience and proven track record of social-media engagement.
You must have a good level of English language especially, comprehension and writing. You must have experience of using spreadsheets and word processing tools (preferably Microsoft EXCEL and WORD).
An international travel passport will be considered an advantage as travels outside Nigeria may become necessary
What we expect
You will be expected to make a structured report by feeding it directly into our on-line database six days each week. You will also be expected to file a weekly summary report.
While the tasks are expected to be carried out remotely, you will be expected to be based mostly in the territory that you cover.
Nature of the contract
This is a full-time job.
We would like to sign contracts with the successful applicants by end of August with starting date preferably in the second half of September.

We offer a starting monthly salary package of N150.000 to N200.000 depending on your qualification, experience and the territory covered.
